The following is a partial list of my clients
in the areas of science journalism and general journalism:
- Science Digest Magazine
Back in the early 1980's, Science Digest Magazine filled
the market niche now occupied by Discover; this
monthly, full-sized glossy magazine, a Hearst publication, featured
articles on physics, chemistry, math, medicine, and biology,
all geared towards popular audiences. I wrote
and/or researched several dozen pieces for the magazine, from
a cover story on gravitational wave detectors, to profiles of
several prominent scientists.
- InfoWorld
I am a former member of the Review Board of InfoWorld,
a leading trade newspaper for computer professionals. I
reviewed a variety of well-known software
packages
(MathCad, Quicken, FrameMaker), assessing not only how well the software packages
worked, but also the appropriate context for their use in corporate environments.
- Other publications
I have written numerous general feature articles
for the Gannett Newspapers; Smithsonian Research Reports; National
Capital PC User Group Monitor; and other publications.
